Perth will host the mining industry’s next big gathering this September, with tickets now available for WA Mining 2026.
The Western Australia Mining Conference and Exhibition (WA Mining) returns to Perth this September following a record-breaking 2025.
Held at the Perth Convention and Exhibition Centre, WA Mining 2025 attracted more than 5500 visitors across two days, cementing the event’s reputation as one of the state’s most important gatherings for the mining and resources sector. With over 155 exhibitors showcasing technologies, equipment and services across the entire mining value chain, the show floor became a collaborative hub for practical business discussions and insights.
Industry leaders used the event to highlight the scale and strategic importance of Western Australia’s mining sector. Speaking at the conference last year, Mines and Petroleum Minister David Michael described mining as far more than a financial driver for the state.
“Mining is more than just a pillar of our economy,” Michael said. “It’s a platform for innovation, a driver of development, and a force for global change – especially in this era of decarbonisation and energy transition.”
The conference program reflected these priorities, featuring keynote presentations, panel discussions and sessions examining the future of mining in Western Australia and beyond. Speakers explored themes including decarbonisation, sustainability, technological advancement and workforce diversity, all while emphasising the need for continued collaboration across the sector.
Department of Mines, Petroleum and Exploration deputy director general resource and environmental regulation Andrew Chaplyn reinforced the importance of building a more inclusive industry to unlock future growth.
“It’s very important that when we are doing those negotiations and discussions, that we respectfully understand cultures and how we work through those processes,” he said at the 2025 conference.
Beyond the conference stage, the exhibition floor demonstrated how companies are already translating these ideas into real-world solutions – with businesses presenting technologies designed to tackle everyday operational challenges, from automation and digitalisation to safety and sustainability.
Major mining companies and technology leaders also used the event to showcase their ambitions for the future. Fortescue reaffirmed its commitment to accelerating decarbonisation across the global mining sector, while Tesla outlined plans to support the rollout of fully electric fleets at mine sites across Australia.
The strong turnout and high level of engagement throughout the event confirmed WA Mining’s growing importance as a meeting point for operators, suppliers, innovators and decision-makers from across the mining ecosystem.
Building on this momentum, organisers have confirmed that WA Mining will return to the Perth Convention and Exhibition Centre from September 16–17, 2026, with tickets now available.
The upcoming edition is expected to build on the success of last year’s show, again bringing together thousands of industry professionals, including mine managers, engineers, procurement specialists, contractors, consultants and business owners.
