Bigger and better: QMIHSC 2024

The QMIHS conference committee has the pleasure of inviting mining industry stakeholders to attend the highly anticipated 35th annual Queensland Mining Industry Health and Safety Conference at The Star Gold Coast from Sunday 18 – Wednesday 21 August 2024.

Registration is now available for what promises to be another outstanding year of insightful presentations focusing on the evolving landscape of health, wellbeing, and safety within the mining industry.

The 2024 program and 35th QMIHSC will continue to grow on the success of the 2023 conference and 33 previous conferences, with more “tools to add to your toolbox”.

With the theme “Back to the future” we will explore if the simplicity of the past can work in harmony with advancements in the present, to navigate safely, a complex and evolving future.

Submit an abstract and award application

There is still time to submit your abstract and award applications before their respective deadlines.

You have the option to submit an abstract and award application (Innovation and Health Program Award) as a video or a written summary. Please adhere to the instructions provided for uploading your video to the submission portal.

The abstract submission deadline is Friday 5 April 2024 and the deadline to submit an award application is Friday 10 May 2024.

Legends Award nominations

Do you know someone deserving of a Legends Award? Someone who has made significant and sustained contributions to health and safety in the Queensland mining industry? Nominate them today.

To submit a nomination, please email the conference organiser on qmihsc@expertevents.com.au with the subject heading: 2024 Legends Award nomination and include the following details:

  • Name and contact details of the person making the nomination
  • Name and contact details of the nominee
  • An overview of what the nominee has achieved in improving health and safety in the Queensland mining industry
  • Reasons why the nominee should be recognised as a Mining Legend.

Nominations will close Friday 10 May 2024.
