Blundstone steps into 150th year

Blundstone is releasing two limited edition pairs of boots this year to celebrate its 150-year milestone.

The boots will celebrate Blundstone’s versatility of making the most comfortable, sturdy and stylish boots for both work and lifestyle.

The #9150 safety boot will represent Blundstone’s 150 years keeping workers’ feet safe on the job, while the #150 casual boot will showcase its style that can be dressed up or down.

Established in Tasmania in 1870, Blundstone remains family owned, following on from founder John Blundstone’s legacy.

Blundstone chief executive officer Steve Gunn said Blundstone’s key to its success was remaining true to its heritage.

“There are only a handful of brands that have been in existence for 150 years and an even smaller number that remain family-owned,” Gunn said.

“Blundstone boots were born tough to weather the untamed terrain of Tasmania, they have marched in armies and dug deep on Everest.

“Today, our boots continue to work hard, exploring the world while simultaneously pounding the pavements of fashion capitals globally.

“We’re really excited to mark our 150th milestone with new partners, campaigns and products.”

Throughout 2020, Blundstone will unveil yearlong series of activations and a creative campaign to celebrate those who have worn the boots and those who wear them today to inspire the next generation of wearers.

While the brand has grown throughout the past 150 years, Blundstone’s ethos and focus remain the same, to produce boots that can take anyone anywhere.
