CleanSpace AGILE achieves major certification

CleanSpace’s advanced respiratory protection device, CleanSpace AGILE, has successfully achieved certification to AS/NZS 17420.2:2021, the Australian and New Zealand adoption of ISO 17420-2:2021, marking a significant milestone in the product’s commercial rollout and clearing the path for entry into these markets.

This follows CleanSpace’s announcement of EN 12941 (TH2) certification earlier this month, which enabled European market entry. With ISO certification now secured, CleanSpace AGILE is certified for both major global markets.

The company said the milestone validates the technical credentials of its CleanSpace AGILE product against internationally recognised respiratory protection requirements and opens up new opportunities for revenue growth across the Australian and New Zealand markets.

CleanSpace said the achievement represents the culmination of nearly two years of focused research and development aimed at meeting increasingly stringent regulatory requirements in powered air-purifying respirator (PAPR) markets, while also addressing the protection needs of workers with facial hair.

With both EN 12941 (TH2) and AS/NZS 17420.2:2021 certification now secured, CleanSpace AGILE is positioned for commercial rollout across Europe, Australia and New Zealand.

The company said it is targeting a significant market opportunity across mining, construction, quarrying and broader industrial sectors, supported by tightening safety regulations and an increased focus on worker health and respiratory protection.

CleanSpace said the certification reinforces its research and development capabilities and its portfolio of patented respiratory protection technologies.e

The company believes CleanSpace AGILE is among the first PAPRs certified under the new ISO-based regulatory framework in Australia and New Zealand.  ISO Respiratory Protection Device Standards have been under development in Australia and New Zealand for a number of years with strong input from industry bodies and other relevant stakeholders. These have now been adopted and expected to become a benchmark standard for these markets by 2030.

The certification process is both lengthy and rigorous, requiring extensive testing and validation to meet stringent regulatory standards. Achieving this certification represents a pivotal milestone for CleanSpace, opening the door to new markets while strengthening the Company’s position as a scalable alternative to traditional industrial respiratory protection brands within an increasingly rigorous regulatory environment.

The CleanSpace AGILE PAPR has been developed to meet the needs of industries operating in high-dust environments.

Drawing from CleanSpace’s patented technologies, AGILE is a compelling option for workers who require a loose-fitting PAPR without compromising comfort and freedom of movement:

  • Designed for all faces, including bearded workers, the Half Facepiece is comfortable and loose-fitting
  • Advanced filtration technology provides 99.99% filtration efficiency
  • Enhanced user comfort and ergonomics — lightweight unit (<425g), no belts or hoses
  • Easy to put on and take off, and compatible with other PPE

These features deliver benefits to workers and organisations, including:

  • Improved worker safety and compliance outcomes to support respiratory safety programs
  • Increased productivity through enhanced usability
  • Enhanced worker adoption due to a comfortable design

With AS/NZS 17420.2:2021 certification and EN 12941 certification for Europe now achieved, CleanSpace is focused on the commercialisation of AGILE and expanding its presence in key global markets.
