Emesent’s Hovermap goes where humans can not

Emesent

When a catastrophic fall of ground occurred at a limestone quarry, covering 22 acres of unstable underground workings, time was running out – but Emesent had it covered.

Spanning over five kilometers of GPS-denied tunnels with ongoing structural failures, the site demanded rapid assessment — but traditional surveying methods couldn’t reach it.

Through the collaboration of UAS and Emesent’s Hovermap technology, an autonomous exploration mission was launched, achieving complete 3D mapping in just 48 hours. More than just a real-world emergency response mission, the story is a compelling vision for the future of underground operations where comprehensive site intelligence no longer requires putting lives at risk.
