“The most important thing in metal repair is surface preparation,” DiSipio says.
“Also, you should make sure the substrate has no contaminants before you apply any repair product. Always refer to the product datasheet to make sure you are using the appropriate product for the application and that the substrate temperature and outside temperature are suitable for curing.
“If any of those steps are neglected, the protective coating has a great chance of failure.”
