Since launching their world-first debut product, TED, in 2011, Nivek Industries has continued to develop innovative, versatile solutions designed to reduce risk and improve conditions across mining sites.
Their purpose-built lineup — featuring TED, its big brother Big TED, the Lift Assist range including LA40 and LA80, the Beast of Burden (BOB) carrier range and the upcoming REX, and an ever-growing range of attachments — reflects a clear mission: to help workers get home safely after every shift.
Whether it’s taking the strain out of handling heavy components or keeping workers clear of suspended load hazards, Nivek’s products are not only making worksites safer but also more accessible — especially for users with varying physical strength and ability.
“We’ve taken the weight out of the job — that physical requirement has been eliminated,” explains Nivek’s General Manager, Derrick Cant.
Each piece of equipment is purpose-built to reduce manual handling, eliminate high-risk lifting scenarios, and boost productivity during complex tasks. From the original TED — a tracked elevating device that revolutionised scissor lift safety with remote-control operation and all-terrain capability — to the compact but powerful LA40 and LA80 Lift Assist arms, every innovation stems from real-world insight.
Mounted on a mobile stand or the front of TED, the LA arms provide ergonomic support for heavy tools like rattle guns and impact drivers — significantly reducing fatigue and musculoskeletal strain.
“When you consider the tools themselves weigh 30 to 40 kilograms just to do up a nut or a bolt, our equipment has taken the weight out of the job — that physical requirement has been eliminated,” Cant said.
Designed by fitters, for fitters, Nivek is deeply committed to improving the lives of the people using their gear.
