Innovating workplace safety with Nivek Industries

Nivek Industries

From lifting arms to remote-controlled scissor lifts, Nivek Industries’ unique and revolutionary equipment range is changing the game for workplace safety and efficiency.

Since launching its world-first debut product TED back in 2011, Nivek has been developing innovative and versatile products to help mitigate workplace dangers for mining personnel.

With a tailor-made range featuring TED and his big brother Big TED, the LA40 and LA80, the recently released BOB range and the upcoming REX, along with an extensive and ever-expanding array of attachment options, the team prides itself on their passion for ensuring every worker finishes every shift safely.

Whether it’s taking the weight out of moving heavy parts and equipment or keeping personnel clear of suspended load hazards, Nivek’s range is not only making workplaces safer but also more accessible to personnel of all different strengths and body types.

“When you consider the tools themselves weigh 30kg to 40kg just to do up a nut or a bolt, our equipment has taken the weight out of the job – that physical requirement has been eliminated” Nivek general manager Derrick Cant told Safe to Work.

The company’s latest release, the BOB 0.5T and BOB 5T remote-controlled tracked carriers, offer a revolutionary and ergonomic solution for moving heavy materials and equipment. These versatile powerhouses have been designed to tackle any terrain or task thrown their way and help prevent manual handling-related injuries that are all too common on mining worksites.

Designed by fitters for fitters, Nivek continues to be committed to its mission of enhancing and improving the lives of the personnel who use their products.

With plans to expand equipment capabilities in 2025, the team is always open to hearing about the needs and new ideas of their customers.

“For the company’s next phase, we’ll be looking to increase the functionality and versatility of our attachment ranges,” Cant said.

“With the BOB for instance, because it has auxiliary power, we could make any kind of attachment you want. We could design a crane so it can self-load, or add a spotlight or a water jetting cannon, the options are endless, and we try to carry that across for all our products.”
