Liebherr Mining has struck an agreement with ThoroughTec Simulation to help operators develop their heavy mining equipment skills in a safe environment.
The two companies will develop simulation experiences for heavy mining equipment training to complement instructor-led sessions that cover areas such as meeting targeted production, performance and machine care.
Liebherr customers will now have the flexibility to choose the solution best suited to their needs, with available simulators for the OEM’s excavators and trucks.
The companies will also create additional models as per customer demand.
Liebherr stated that advanced operator training simulators were essential for honing the skills of workers operating heavy mining equipment.
Under the agreement, Liebherr will share its confidential technical information with ThoroughTec, so the latter is able to design, develop and test the simulators before they go out to market.
“This collaboration will ensure that the latest capabilities and technical innovations found in Liebherr mining machines are fully and accurately replicated in all new-generation ThoroughTec simulators,” ThoroughTec stated.
“(ThoroughTec’s) simulators are known for their value and reliability, representing the pinnacle of realism and training efficiency for both surface and underground operations.”
